world snooker championship 29-4-14

Going into the third session Neil Robertson led 9-7 but Mark Allen was strong enough to make the score 8-8 but could not win that final frame. In the final session Neil Robertson put in an awesome performance as he hit a 94 and a 95 still not being able to put in a century to make his hundredth. Neil Robertson could win this title and in my opinion he is the favourite still and is the only non British player left in the competition

In the other match of the afternoon Dominic Dale cruised to victory over Michael Wosley. The first session is where this game was won as Wosley could not get out of the traps as he lost the first session 7-1 and the second lead 12-4. Wosley might have been emotionally tired after beating the best player of the year so far Ding Junhai and this gave a lot more control to Dominic Dale as he won all 3 sessions. In my opinion Dominic Dale is a surprise package and has got very little hope when he plays a big boy (O Sullivan Robertson Selby etc)

In the first match of the evening Judd Trump cruised into the quarter finals leading 9-7 from the first session with a 13-7 win over Ryan Day. There was never a time when you would think that Trump could loose this match as he looked so easy for him. I feel that with performances like this Judd Trump is a big player now but how will he cope with that

Shaun Murphy also did not have it that tough as he defeated Marco Fu which means still to this point there will not be an Asian World Champion as he had a 10-6 lead overnight. Murphy had a little bit of clinchers disease as he did lead 12-7 being in the balls but when he was not able to clear it up as he seamed nervous. He did win the match in the next match. You can not be certain what Shaun Murphy will show up for this match
