Liverpool achieved the record of getting 100 goals being the first time they have done this since 1896 but the goal that they conceded first was a bad on. A simple cross and Martin Skirtle put the ball into his own net. Newcastle were trying to play everybody back a tactic that Chelsea used a few weeks earlier in the season.  But Liverpool got a goal from a great volley by Daniel Agger on 60 then a couple of minutes then a couple of minutes later Daniel Sturidge got the goal that gave Liverpool hope of winning the title

Man City got the win that they needed and never really looked like surrendering that lead as they seemed to have control of the match from the start. The first goal came before half time from Samer Nasri and the second coming after half time from Vincent company.
